THE PORTRAIT EXPERIENCE

Portraiture is a carefully crafted blend of color, light, art, and technical knowledge. I believe it is also intuition and knowing where to find the gleam in your partner’s eyes as they gaze in your direction as you laugh at their jokes. Portraits are my way of finding the connections of humanity through my lens.

As a mother, wife, and fellow human experiencing this life, I seek to capture all the emotions that come along with those titles with intention. My image is your kids running with wild abandon through a field, their wind-blown hair and toothless grins, knees probably dirty. It’s you, following behind, laughing, love emanating from your eyes.

The portrait experience is for anyone who feels they need to document their human connection and tether it to this moment in time.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! You’re investing time and money into having portraits taken and you want to look your best! Once you’ve booked a portrait session with me, I send out my client exclusive Style Guide that will assist with coordinating outfits and ensuring your clothes feel appropriate for the setting. You can also browse my Pinterest for inspiration!

  • My most important advice is to arrive to your session without any expectations. Children have energy and mood swings and are easily distracted! During our time together, I will use any calm and cooperative moments to try and get “the shot” of everyone looking and smiling at the camera. The other 95% of the time your children will likely want to explore and play, and I’ll encourage you to interact with what they’re doing! These are often my clients most treasured photographs.

  • Since we’re often booking your session weeks or months in advance, it’s impossible to know what the weather will be. I keep an eye on the forecast the week prior to our time together and let you know ahead of time if there is a chance we will need to reschedule. I want you to be pleased with the outcome of your portraits and will always accommodate a reschedule if it’s raining, too foggy, or mushy from a previous nights storm. If you have any concerns about the temperature on your session date, please feel free to share your thoughts with me and we will find a solution!
